Vintage yogurt jar “Yogourt ARAM”
A beautiful and rare French yogurt jar with blue lettering reading “Yogourt ARAM.” It was produced by Poterie Revol in Saint-Uze and bears the mark “Terre d'Acier” on the bottom.
The material, terre d’acier, was Revol’s proprietary type of dense and durable stoneware, developed for dairies and pharmacies.
TheARAM brand was used by Aram Deukmedjian, a pioneer in the French yogurt industry, who launched his products in Paris as early as 1912. These jars were returned and reused, which is why they are hard to find today. This jar dates back to the very beginning of his production.
