Green-blue glazed jug
Beautiful old French jug in an intense green-blue glaze with a motif of a mill at the bottom, pointing to the traditional Moulin des Loups factory in northern France. The jug is approximately 18 cm tall and is in excellent condition with a shiny glaze that highlights the soft lines and classic details.
Moulin des Loups (often known as Orchies/Moulin des Loups) was one of the most famous faience factories in France in the 19th and 20th centuries. They produced everything from everyday kitchenware to decorative dinnerware, often characterized by clear glazes, fine motifs and a robust look.
This jug can be used functionally for water, milk or wine - but also looks beautiful as a decorative piece of French faience on the shelf or table.
