Antique French Saint-Uze butter keeper
Incredibly fine and functional antique French beurrier à eau (water butter keeper) in classic Saint-Uze earthenware. The jar is crafted in the characteristic greyish-white glaze and decorated with hand-painted cobalt blue flower bouquets as well as an elegant garland border on the insert.
The clever French design keeps butter fresh and spreadable at room temperature, as the water in the base creates a natural, airtight seal.
