Caporal pitcher - Française Menthol
This French café pitcher in dark green earthenware dates back to the 1950s and was originally used in cafés and bistros in France.
The pitcher is marked “Française Menthol – Caporal”, a classic tobacco brand, and served as an advertising and serving pitcher – typically for water on café tables.
The shape is characteristic of the period: a slightly sloping silhouette, a distinct spout, and a solid, angular handle that makes the pitcher both functional and graphic in its expression. The deep green glaze combined with the white typography provides a strong visual appeal and an authentic café feel.
