Beautiful antique French ceramic pyrogène with a nicely patinated metal top. The pyrogène dates back to the 1920s and is in excellent condition. It is a charming example of French bistro culture and classic table accessories.
Originally, pyrogènes were used in cafés and restaurants, where they were placed in the middle of the table holding matches so that one could quickly light a cigarette, pipe, or cigar. A decorative collector's item that also serves as a piece of history.
