Welcome to our blog – a look behind the scenes
We often receive questions from you – about everything from how we found our house in France and where we unearth all the French finds, to what everyday life is actually like down here. That is precisely why we have chosen to start this blog.
Here, we share a little more of the life behind the shop – about the work, the dreams, and the daily routine in our little corner of Southern France. A place where old markets, sun-bleached facades, and French lifestyle meet a passion for beautiful, pre-owned things with soul.
Who we are

Casper
Casper is the one you most often meet in our shop on Smallegade. He is in Denmark for a couple of weeks every month, where he also works as an instructor. As a former firefighter, he teaches first aid and fire safety – so if you are in need of a first-aid course at work, he is the right person to get in touch with.
Mia
Mia has worked in the tech industry for more than 25 years, but a few years ago she chose to trade her executive job for a life in the South of France. She lives in France full-time and is the one who finds and selects the products you see in the shop.
Life in Southern France
A few years ago, we bought an old, abandoned vineyard which we are slowly bringing back to life. The house has stood still for many years, but it holds the kind of details you only find in old French properties – thick stone walls, worn tiles, and stories in every single corner.
The renovation is a chapter in itself. We take it one step at a time and try to preserve as much of the original charm as possible, while making the house a home that suits our everyday life. There are days with dust, chaos, and rubble – and days when we can suddenly see how it is all starting to take shape. It is a project that requires patience, but it is also a declaration of love for the life we have chosen down here in Southern France.
What you can expect here on the blog
Here on the blog, we share a bit of everything – stories from the markets, small glimpses of the renovation, tips for the French lifestyle, and inspiration for decorating with patinated finds. We hope you would like to follow along – and perhaps let yourself be inspired by the calm, simplicity, and beauty found in the imperfect.
Many of the things we fall for down here eventually end up in the shop – everything from old French jars and posters to cutlery and unique finds. Each item has its own story, and that is precisely what makes it so special to collect and share them with you.
You can also follow us on Instagram, where we regularly share our French finds and a bit from the renovation and everyday life here in Southern France.
Happy reading
